There is some fantastic walking in this area – and walks can be selected to suit all abilities, ages and interests.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path (around 180 miles long) is one of Britain’s National Trails and passes through Little Haven. As well as the stunning sea views, the walk takes you through a variety of landscapes, ranging from steep limestone cliffs, undulating red sandstone bays, volcanic headlands and flooded glacial valleys. There are numerous pretty villages along the way, with a range of village shops, pubs and ice creams to refresh weary walkers.

There are numerous boat and fishing fishing trips to be taken. A trip out to or around Skomer Island is a great way to see sea and bird life close to – puffins, guillemots, razorbills, manx shearwater, choughs, short eared owls, skomer voles, grey seals can all be seen, depending on the time of year. We have been lucky enough to see a peregrine falcon on our last two visits.

There are several stables in the vicinity – one that we have used is Nolton Stables (01437 710360) and they offer rides of differing lengths, abilities and locations. At low tide, they take a ride down onto the beach – a wonderful experience.

The coastal bus can be used to allow one way stretches of the path to be explored (www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/coastbus).
There are also plenty of smaller circular walks. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park list 130 of them on their web site. Go to www.pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk/walking

The city of St Davids is well worth a visit with its interesting shops, galleries, beautiful cathedral and nearby Whitesands Beach (dog free in summer). You can also book many coasteering and boat trips in St Davids.

With nearly 350,000 breeding pairs of Manx Shearwaters, over 40,000 Puffins, thousands of Guillemots, Razorbills and Kittiwakes and hundreds of Fulmars, Skomer is an internationally important seabird island.
It is located less than a mile off the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast making it a great place to visit for the day .
Please note, Puffins start arriving in mid-April. They are present from May-July. The first ones start leaving in mid-July and all Puffins are gone by the end of July.

One of our favourite walks is up at the Deer Park (head towards St Martin’s Haven and park at National Trust carpark), with amazing views out towards Skomer, often there are ponies to be seen and huge numbers of birds. On recent visits we have been fortunate to spot porpoises playing in the running sea and there are normally seals to be spotted on the beaches or in the shore break.

Pembrokeshire is home to many castles of the Landsker Line are numerous castles. Pembroke castle, birthplace of Henry VII, is a great place to visit with activities like Knight School, Keepers of the Castle and Falconry displays
